Get a Taste of the Islands During This Immersive Exhibit Full of Food and Fun
The producers of Taste the Islands culinary and travel TV series, and The Taste the Islands Experience food and drink festival, present the Caribbean Culinary Museum and Theater, an immersive exhibit sharing information and artifacts representing the shared history and culture of the islands of the Caribbean from the perspective of food.
In the Museum, learn about the origins of the foods and flavors of the Caribbean, from ground provisions, rice and grains, to stews, fruits, rum and meats. See culinary artifacts and utensils, some unique to the region, and learn how they have been used from generation to generation and from island to island.
In the Culinary Theater, watch as actors representing different islands of the Caribbean share a dramatic presentation of the meaning behind our shared culinary culture and history. Share your own nostalgia and memories with our video crew and have the chance to become part of a 2020 documentary presentation.
This exhibit is part of “The Island Imprint” year of activities, presented by Island Syndicate. The Lauderhill Exhibit is the first in the year-long series, which will also see installations at the Broward Main Library and Pompano Beach Cultural Center during 2019.
