Rhythms of Africa introduces the audience to an historical, geographical and musical litany through percussion, bringing children together with talented world-renowned musicians for a wonderful presentation of sound, poetry and harmony. This special concert will be led by Willie Stewart, the former drummer for the iconic Jamaican reggae band Third World, with a vibrant musical ensemble composed of musicians and vocalists celebrating the rhythms of Africa that have influences cultures throughout the world. Joining them on stage will be a select group of students from Somerset Academy who will showcase their talents and perform alongside their mentors in a jam-packed evening of music. It’s an extraordinary event happening at the Miramar Cultural Center, so be sure to attend on Saturday!
