Witness the Evolution of Doo-Wop Live Onstage with the Doop Wop Project
Hear all the classic hits of Broadway's Jersey Boys and Motown: The Musical at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts! With a special concert celebrating this timeless odies genre, The Doo Wop Project brings street corner singing to a whole new generation.
Featuring current and former stars of Broadway’s smash hits Jersey Boys and Motown: The Musical, The Doo Wop Project brings unparalleled authenticity of sound and vocal excellence to recreate — and in some cases entirely reimagine — some of the greatest music in American pop and rock history. The level of talent, artistry, and ability to entertain is off the charts with this show, bringing you an evening of pure energy and magic!
The concert takes audiences back in time to where Doo Wop begins, on the street corners of American cities just after World War II. Young men gathered to sing a cappella, mimicking the sounds of instruments with nonsense words: the bass was bom-bom-bom, the guitar was shang-a-lang and the brass riffs were doooo-wop-wop. These impromptu concerts gave rise to groups like the Crests, Belmonts and Flamingos, and now you can witness the excitement of all your favorites live with these gifted young performers!
Come hear the incredible tunes that influenced everything and everyone from the Motown sound to Michael Jackson and Amy Winehouse. It’s an exclusive Saturday show happening at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts, so be sure to attend!
